About PlantoScan
PlantoScan helps you find out what a plant is and keep it healthy: identify plants from a photo, read a care guide for each species, and get water and fertilizer reminders for the plants you own.
Who we are
PlantoScan is developed and published by UpVision GmbH, a software company in Biel, Switzerland, founded by Marcel Iseli and Daniel Iseli. The PlantoScan app has been on the App Store since 2022 and is available on iPhone and Android.
What PlantoScan does
- Identifies more than 100,000 plant species from a photo, including 500+ mushrooms (never eat a wild mushroom based on an app).
- Checks plant health for common diseases and pests.
- Turns each plant's needs into water and fertilizer reminders, with widgets, household sharing and plant-sitter links.
- Plans the garden with a planting calendar and frost alerts.
- Works in 15 in-app languages.
On this website we publish free plant care guides, gardening calculators and a web plant scanner. How the plant data is sourced and checked is described in our methodology.
