Spiral Aloe Plant Care

Spiral Aloe (Aloe polyphylla) belongs to the Asphodelaceae family within the Aloe genus. Spiral Aloe is native to the Kingdom of Lesotho in the Drakensberg mountains. Spiral Aloe is also known as Kroken Aloe.

Spiral Aloe displays a climbing, vining growth habit, reaching up to 1.5 inches tall with a spread of approximately 1.5 inches.

Leaf size: approximately 6 inches.

Aloe polyphylla requires watering every 14–21 days. Allow the top layer of soil to dry between waterings to prevent root rot. Reduce watering frequency during winter when growth slows.

Spiral Aloe thrives in bright indirect light conditions. The optimal light range is 1000–2000 lux. Avoid placing Spiral Aloe in direct, harsh sunlight for extended periods, as this can scorch the foliage.

Aloe polyphylla grows best at temperatures between 50°F and 85°F. Spiral Aloe prefers humidity levels of 40–60%.

Well-draining mix with perlite and peat. Good drainage is essential for Spiral Aloe to prevent waterlogging, which leads to root rot and fungal issues.
